Malane Newman has had a long diversified artistic career. She began her own business in 2000 and works with clients throughout the United States and in Canada. She also has worked with clients in Kuwait and London.
She has been an illustrator throughout much of her career drawing photo realistic imagery through many different styles of cartooning. She holds a California Teaching Credential and has taught a variety of classes including famous character cartooning, Japanese anime, and general cartooning. Prior to starting her own business, she held the position of Visual Communications Director for Accenture Corporation for many years. She is heralded as the “First Female Lead Illustrator” for PS Magazine (a 68-page cartoon magazine) which is published monthly by the US Army for more than 60 years.
Her illustrations have been published in a variety of children’s books. She was a Colorist for Mattel’s Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale Storybook. Other recently completed work includes illustrations for Milk Product Containers; one targeted toward adults and one towards children, as well as some photo-realistic illustrations of fruit for 4 different Fruit Juice Containers. Another completed project includes a game that has just come out called Fill in the Bleep from Talicor. As well as some other games, which are not available on the market just yet.
Much of Malane Newman’s career is chronicled in several editions of Who’s Who from 1988 through the present day. She is a long-time member of the National Cartoonists Society and is a current member of Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
